Founded in 1971 and headquartered in Oklahoma City, it operates approximately 3,955 gross wells across several prominent U.S. shale plays. A significant portion of its production, about two-thirds, is derived from the Permian Basin, while the company also maintains a substantial presence in the Anadarko, Eagle Ford, and Bakken basins. As of the end of 2023, Devon reported net proved reserves of 1.8 billion barrels of oil equivalent and an average net production of roughly 658,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, with a composition of 73% oil and natural gas liquids and 27% natural gas.
