DiscoveryBioMed, Inc. is a life sciences and biotechnology company based in Birmingham, Alabama, established in 2007. The company specializes in research and development services focused on cell engineering and cell-based drug discovery. It conducts high-throughput screening for bioassays using mammalian cell platforms, lower organisms, and non-infectious bacterial pathogens, while also offering targeted molecular screening in in vitro cellular environments. A notable innovation from DiscoveryBioMed is its 3D Biogel-based platform, which utilizes cells isolated from human Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease donor kidneys in a tissue culture format. Operating as a contract research organization, DiscoveryBioMed serves a diverse clientele, including academic laboratories, biotechnology firms, and the commercial drug discovery community, with the aim of integrating human cell physiology into the drug discovery process.
