EXTOLL

EXTOLL is a technology company founded in 2011 as a spin-off from the University of Heidelberg, with support from the German EXIST program. Its core intellectual property, developed by the computer architecture group co-founded by Ulrich BrĂ¼ning, concerns high-density Active Optical Cable interconnects for computing clusters and was exclusively licensed to EXTOLL. The technology enables longer-distance signal transmission than purely electrical interconnects and underpins a complete product solution for interconnecting clusters ranging from a few nodes to 64,000 nodes.
