Founded by Ricardo Vice Santos and Andreas Blixt, two former Spotify engineers, after Ricardo ran into a pole on the streets of New York while walking and texting with a friend in Sweden. Ricardo got frustrated as he simply wanted to talk, and walk. Blixt and Ricardo felt that there should be a simpler, more personal way to communicate with their closest ones than to text message; a product that would empower conversations with more emotion and context, that would be easily understood and that would be adopted by anyone with a smartphone. Roger currently has five employees from Sweden, Portugal, France, India and Singapore, and is based in New York City.

They believe there is a large opportunity to provide a new level of engagement and excitement in messaging apps by applying these techniques and philosophies. MessageMe had also been courted by Snapchat as well as an app maker out of Europe, Truecaller. And, after earnouts, the price that Yahoo paid to acqui-hire MessageMe is between $30 million and $40 million.

The company offers an online job searching network where users can create professional profiles and engage in a gamified experience to track and quantify their career development. Additionally, Identified provides a healthcare recruiting service. With a team of approximately 40 employees, the company is headquartered in San Francisco's China Basin.
