Initially founded as a private institution in the Methodist tradition, Morgan State University was purchased by the state of Maryland in 1939 to offer more higher education opportunities to its minority constituents. 4-H is an organization administered by the US Department of Agriculture that focuses on youth development and empowerment, youth programming, creating a STEM-ready workforce, youth-adult partnerships, community service, strengthening communities, youth education, healthy living, youth impact, and volunteerism.

Watt Time builds technologies that enable electronic devices to automatically sync the times they use power to moments of clean energy. WattTime’s technologies combine real-time data from power grid operators, the EPA, and more. They detect moments when using electricity will be cleaner and enable automatic adjustments to actually choose which types of power plants your devices rely on. With a simple software update, smart device owners can instantly and permanently reduce their carbon footprint while helping clean and renewable power plants compete on the grid.

Gringgo is a recycling company dedicated to enhancing waste management systems through digital innovation. By leveraging geographic information systems (GIS) and mapping technology, Gringgo develops applications that aggregate data on local waste collectors, recycling plants, and garbage cleaning facilities. Quill is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing free, interactive learning tools aimed at enhancing students' academic skills. Their mission focuses on empowering students to take an active role in their education by presenting them with problems to solve and allowing them to construct solutions. The platform is designed to support middle school students studying English, covering all grammatical concepts outlined in the Common Core State Standards for grades 1-8. Quill also provides resources for teachers to monitor their students' progress and is in the process of creating parental accounts to keep parents informed about their children's performance. In addition to its current offerings, Quill plans to expand its support to high school students, college students, ESL learners, and those preparing for standardized tests like the SAT and ACT. Iridescent's mission is to create and deliver powerful science, engineering, and technology education to help underprivileged children develop curiosity, creativity, and persistence. Iridescent runs in-person programs at our science studios in south LA and the south Bronx, including our Family Science programs, which connect engineering students with under-served students and their families through hands-on engineering design challenges. All of these challenges are also available online, through our online learning platform The Curiosity Machine, where students are virtually mentored by STEM professionals with every design they submit.
