YouTube

YouTube is a video-sharing platform founded in February 2005 by three former PayPal employees. It enables users to upload, view, and share a diverse range of video content, including music videos, educational material, and personal vlogs. The platform supports various technologies such as Adobe Flash and HTML5 for video playback and offers features like 3D viewing and the ability for registered users to upload unlimited videos. Although unregistered users can watch content, those wishing to access potentially offensive material must verify their age. YouTube hosts a wide variety of creators, from individual content producers to major media companies, who participate through its partnership program. Predominantly ad-supported, YouTube also provides rental options for movies. It operates as a subsidiary of Google and is available in 76 languages, with its headquarters in San Bruno, California. Recently, YouTube launched YouTube for Artists to connect musicians with resources and opportunities to enhance their visibility and promote their work effectively.
