POSCO Venture Capital Corporation (POSTECH VC) was established in 1997 by POSCO to support the revitalization of small and medium enterprises in South Korea. The firm focuses on investment opportunities across various sectors, including Information Technologies, Advanced Materials, Bio Technologies, Renewable Energy, and Life Sciences. Its mission includes accelerating the commercialization of innovative technologies developed at POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology), RIST (Research Institute of Industrial Science and Technology), and other research institutions. POSTECH VC benefits from the expertise of over 200 professors from POSTECH who assist in evaluating potential technologies. The venture capital team consists of experienced professionals with backgrounds in successful startups, consulting, and executive management. Currently, POSTECH VC manages multiple funds totaling over 60 billion Won, with a particular emphasis on high-growth opportunities in renewable energy, specifically in biodiesel and photovoltaic technologies.
