TEL Venture Capital is the corporate venture capital arm of Tokyo Electron, a semiconductor manufacturing company. Founded in 2006, it is based in Fremont, California, with an additional office in Tokyo. The firm makes early-stage and growth investments aligned with Tokyo Electron's core businesses, focusing on semiconductors and manufacturing equipment, renewable energy and energy storage, life sciences and healthcare electronics, lighting, photonics, advanced displays and printable electronics, water treatment, nanotechnology and enabling materials, solar and clean energy, and related network technologies. It backs technologies linked to semiconductor processes such as measurement and inspection, factory automation, equipment systems, devices, software and sustainability improvements, as well as cost reduction for manufacturing. Investments are pursued globally, including the United States and international markets, typically up to ten million dollars annually.
