NATO Innovation Fund

The NATO Innovation Fund (NIF), established in 2023 and based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, serves as the venture capital arm of NATO. Its primary mission is to enhance the Alliance's innovation ecosystems by addressing the underfunding in the deep tech sector. NIF focuses on investing in startups that specialize in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, autonomy, quantum technologies, biotechnology, hypersonic systems, space exploration, novel materials and manufacturing, energy and propulsion, and next-generation communications. By backing these innovators, the fund aims to foster a commercialization machine that strengthens both the private and public sectors, thereby securing a safer future for NATO's 1 billion citizens.
