Opes Impact Fund

Iwokrama is an international not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of an endangered biodiverse forest in Guyana. Governed by an International Board of Trustees, it employs a professional team of approximately seventy staff members based in Georgetown and at the Iwokrama River Lodge and Research Centre in Kurupukari. The organization focuses on eco-tourism, offering lodging, meals, and guided tours of the rainforest. It also engages in scientific research and forest management training, assessing the forest's economic contributions. Through these activities, Iwokrama aims to generate ecological, economic, and social benefits for both local communities in Guyana and the global community at large.
