Established in 2000 and based in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland, Eblana also has offices in several countries, including France, Germany, the United States, Japan, China, and Taiwan. The company emerged from advanced research collaborations with leading Irish universities, such as Trinity College Dublin and the National Microelectronics Research Centre. Founded by Dr. James O’Gorman and Prof. John Hegarty, who have extensive backgrounds in laser research, Eblana aims to commercialize scalable laser manufacturing technology. This technology enables the production of high-performance, single-wavelength lasers at reduced costs, serving diverse mass market applications in broadband, access, and enterprise markets, as well as optical sensing and metrology. Additionally, Eblana offers research and development services on a contract basis.
