The project was funded by the National Road authority (NRA) Research Fund, Enterprise Ireland (EI), and the Higher Education Authority​ (HEA). Reflective Measurement Systems acquired the Technology Transfer Licence (TTL) from ITB for the INFORM technology for road lines and markers in August 2013 with a view to developing a commercial product. The resulting technology is called RetroTek.
