Moltex Energy is a leader in nuclear technology focused on developing innovative solutions for clean electricity generation. The company has created the Stable Salt Reactor - Wasteburner (SSR-W), which utilizes a molten salt-based fuel system derived from recycled nuclear waste. This design not only offers a cost-effective and environmentally friendly approach to energy production but also enhances safety features, making it suitable for various community settings. The SSR-W is capable of generating large-scale power, with outputs ranging from 300 to 500 MWe per reactor. Additionally, Moltex has developed the WAste To Stable Salt (WATSS) recycling process, which further minimizes waste. Their GridReserve technology allows the reactor to store energy as heat, enabling it to supply electricity to the grid during peak demand periods, effectively complementing intermittent renewable energy sources like wind and solar. Moltex Energy is advancing its technology through partnerships, including a collaboration with NB Power to deploy its reactor systems at the Point Lepreau site in New Brunswick, Canada.
